Free speech is tremendously important. This post isn’t about to list a series of recommended restraints on free speech. But it is the case that free speech is troubled, and a fresh focus on truth, accuracy, and authenticity, are called for. In places, they are even answering that call.
Rather, it will describe some ways in which free speech is positive, and how voices that are increasingly non-human are part of a more feverish, ill-informed and corrupted presentation of reality to consumers of information.
