This week, our Founder, Darren Weale, posted what is to date his favourite post of his own on LinkedIn. We thought we would share it here:
“Would you like to be a ‘source’? Of opinion and comment for the media? It can be done. You can do it yourself, frankly, or (without the stress and stabbing in the dark that might occur that way) with the assistance of Public Relations experts (PR’s). People like 💫LORRAINE Emmett, Michelle Hatcher MCIPR, Sandra Coffey, or myself at In Tune PR. It’s what we do. I am now a regular – if once a quarter is regular – on BBC Radio London’s ‘Trends At Twelve-ish’. Also they called me yesterday to offer my opinions on e-scooters – link in comments. It turns out I am not a fan. Similarly, Caroline Rowett is a ‘source’ for Newsweek after an introduction I made a while ago (I hope it is OK to mention you there, Caroline, you’re not a client as such).
“I gave a choice of PR’s there. There are plenty of us about, some more unique than others, in the same way that out of the digital marketing experts I know no one other than Sarah Marsh-Collings babelMonkey Media offers the brilliant ‘evergreen’ social media service. I have used their image, as it is better than mine! Choose the PR help you need – big company, solo service provider, whoever you like. My advice would be go go with someone whose values you share. Mine are Love, Kindness, Determination, and Making a Difference – thank you, Chandra Sharma – Workwear and Stationery 👑, for helping me with re-connecting with them tonight, and Zeenat Noorani Mindset Wellbeing Coach for your coaching on this. I am also an ‘ideas man’ for PR campaigns, which, allied with determination, can be a potent combination. Enjoy your journey to being a ‘source’, however you get there.”
