The best musicians often either have a compelling story, can tell compelling stories, or have both. Rising Canadian star Jarrid Lee looks to have both. As he says, “I don’t belong in a box”, so while he is justly proud of his First Nation heritage, and he is an exponent of Northern Country, his focus is on his songwriting and on his memorable live performances.

Jarrid Lee releases a new official single, ‘Let’s Get Gone’, on June 10th 2021, across all digital platforms, preceding his new album release.

‘Let’s Get Gone’ tells the story of a loving couple who are stuck in a small town and their stale way of life chafes at their relationship. They decide a move, a road trip, is vital to save their relationship. The song is dedicated to those who feel compelled to get up and get out and to reach for new horizons.

Jarrid is an award-winning singer/songwriter. As a boy, Jarrid followed his dad, musician Rollie Poitras, around with country band County Express, so most of his childhood weekends were spent backstage at talent shows, weddings, beer fests, rodeos, music festivals, and just about every community event one can think of. Dad bought Jarrid his first electric guitar at the age of twelve. Jarrid played with his friends in junior high and high school, forming a band influenced by the rock bands of the 90s.

There was always a love and affinity for Country music and as time went on Jarrid found himself listening to new Country artists like Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley and Dean Brody so he picked up an acoustic and began to emulate the sounds of new country. Although Jarrid has not received any formal vocal training, music lessons, or guitar lessons he decided to start writing his own music.

Jarrid was recruited to join the Saskatchewan Country Music Association and SaskMusic. He later won a spot to play the main stage at Craven’s Country Thunder music festival through a radio contest where he won the CKRM ‘Spirit of Saskatchewan’ songwriters award for his song ‘Small Town.’ Jarrid has played at numerous venues and shows across Western Canada opening up for such names as Trooper, David Lee Murphy, Sammy Kershaw, Aaron Tippin, Colin Raye, Jess Moskaluke, Midland and his idol, Luke Bryan. He has also opened shows for Tom Cochrane and Red Ryder along with Country Music Legend Tanya Tucker.

Jarrid loves to entertain and his sound is akin to heartfelt 90’s country mixed with the new gritty muscle Country of Jason Aldean.

A favourite earlier song of ours from the EP ‘Up on Stage’, namely ‘Glass of Wine’: www.youtube.com/watch?v=108JFsF30SA. We have added it to our In Tune PR Spotify playlist: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7puWO6OJHVpxp8KJe1iDpJ?utm_source=embed_v2&go=1&play=1&nd=1
